It’s Never Too Late

It’s never too late. Don’t focus on what was taken away. Find something to replace it, and acknowledge the blessing you have.

Intoxication is strictly prohibited in Islam, and it is considered as a Sin. But, if this sin has been committed by us then we have stop and avoid that and have to ask forgiveness from Allah. As Allah is the only one who can forgive us. It is also mentioned that on the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Allah the Almighty said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it. Built by Kutchi Memon Jama’at on 1926, Nakhoda meaning Mariner. The mosque was built as an imitation of the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar at Sikandra, Agra by Kutchi Memon Jamat, a small community of Sunni Muslim community from Kutch.

also known as Imambara Hussainabad Mubarak is an imambara or a congregation hall for Shia Muslims, Built by Muhammad Ali Shah, the third Nawab of Awadh in 1838. it was to serve as his own mausoleum and his mother, who is buried beside him

Jama Mosque, Ahmedabad

is the most splendid mosque of Ahmedabad, built in 1424 during the reign of Ahmed Shah I. Lying in the old walled city, the mosque is situated outside Bhadra Fort area. The inscription on the mihrab commemorates the inauguration of the mosque on January 4, 1424 by Sultan Ahmad Shah I. The mosque was originally intended only for private use of the sultans.

Masjid Rasheed, Deoband

Darul Uloom Deoband, is the Darul uloom Islamic school in India where the Deobandi Islamic movement began. The school was founded in 1866 and made great efforts for the freedom of India. After the Indian Rebellion of 1857, to counter the British plan to enslave India culturally, Darul Uloom Deoband learning centre was established on 21 May 1866 by Maulana Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi. The Deobandi Islamic movement originated in the Darul Uloom and Shri Bala Sundri temple.

Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Ahmedabad

Famous for beautifully carved ten stone latticework windows (jalis) Built in 1573 built by Sidi Saeed or Sidi Saiyyed, an Abyssinian in the retinue of Bilal Jhajar Khan, general in the army of the last Sultan Shams-ud-Din Muzaffar Shah III of the Gujarat Sultanate.
There are many examples mentioned in the hadiths and in the Quran to avoid alcohol and intoxications and Ramadan is the best month to stop these things.

Alcohol’s Effects

Intoxications are drug which can effects our mental and physical state, after getting intoxicated most of the people reduce self-consciousness and shyness which leads to make people do things that they end up regretting.

Intoxication not only effects our mental state but it also effects our bodies’ internal organs as it directly effects our liver, and our Brain, continuous consumption of alcohol leads to memory loss.

Many people end their lives in accidents caused by alcoholic influence. Alcohol also leads in weight gain, depression etc.so there are many negative points of intoxication.

Alcohol’s in Islam

In Islam, consumption of any intoxicants (khamr, specifically, alcoholic beverages) is generally forbidden in the Qur’an through several separate verses revealed at different times over a period of years.

Quran makes it clear to us that any form of intoxicating(are both alcohol and drugs) substance is prohibited.

At first, it was forbidden for Muslims to attend prayers while intoxicated.

The three verses concerning alcohol in the Quran were revealed in the following chronological order:

Step 1 – Acknowledgement of both the good and bad side of alcohol, and confirmation that the bad side is worse

They question thee about strong drink and games of chance. Say: In both is great sin, and (some) utility for men; but the sin of them is greater than their usefulness… (Quran 2:219)

Step 2 – Praying while intoxicated is prohibited

O ye who believe! Draw not near unto prayer when ye are drunken, till ye know that which ye utter … (Quran 4:43)

Step 3 – Complete prohibition by asking muslims to abstain from consumption

O ye who believe! Strong drink and games of chance and idols and divining arrows are only an infamy of Satan’s handiwork. Leave it aside in order that ye may succeed. Satan seeketh only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance, and to turn you from remembrance of Allah and from (His) worship. Will ye then have done? (Quran 5:90-91)

When this was revealed the Muslim citizens of Medina immediately began to destroy and empty their alcohol containers into the streets.  Even those who were guiltlessly enjoying cups of wine spat the alcohol from their mouths.  It is said that the streets of Medina ran with alcohol. Believers today must completely trust God, in the same way that the first Muslims trusted God and understood that He was their only Protector and Provider.  All power and strength comes from God and a scourge like alcohol can be eradicated only when those affected by alcohol turn to God with complete submission.

How we can avoid or completely stop intoxication?

  1. Ramadan is just for 30 Days it is not very hard. Leave alcohol and just don’t think about it. there are lot activities going in Ramadan engage in that.
  2. Try to avoid alcohol slowly or stop it immediately before Ramadan (At least 10-15 days before).
  3. Start drinking lot of water if you are addicted to any of the intoxication. most of the time you’re fasting when you break fast opt for other cool drinks and juices.
  4. Eat proper and healthy food you can try different types of food according to your taste. And don’t miss the tasty Ramadan non- veg dishes they are very much tasty then the alcohol.
  5. Try to discuss with your friends and family members. They definitely help you in this.
  6. Try to have soft drinks (cold drinks) or non–alcoholic beverages or fruit juices.
  7. Avoid parties and function were alcohol or any intoxication is served.
  8. Change your lifestyle and Attitude keep it simple. Its is hard to leave alcohol but for Ramadan you can do it.
  9. Who are yours Real Friend and who is fake Avoid friendship which leads to intoxication. Friends who are call you for drink they are not you’re best friend because best friend always think good about you. And who are helping you to get rid of alcohol he is your best friend don’t leave him they are hard to get. If you don’t have best(not fake) make on in this Ramadan.
  10. Donate the money to the needy people or in any charity. Give your money which you want to buy/use for Alcohol. Give that to charity to some poor peoples. You will never be happy more than that. and look that poors how happy they are from your money. Usually they get hardly one time to eat in a day. Don’t forget its Ramadan you will get 70 time reward of this kind work.
  11. Keep visiting and listening Islamic lectures. It will encourage you to reaching your goal of quitting alcohol and how to live better and happy life. 
  12. Stay in contact with the wise people. If you surrounded by wise people you know it is very much easy to live without alcohol.
  13. Attend all five time prayer. It will improve your health or help you to come any problem in quitting alcohol.
  14. Try to do Wadu as many times as possible.
  15. Try to offer your prayer in Mosque.
  16. Do your Exercise daily, Healthy body and healthy mind keeps you fit.
  17. You should avoid contact with anybody who has been drinking or has the tendency to talk about it.
  18. Get the assistance of loved ones, your road to recovery will be much smoother.

Dates are the fruits which are mentioned in the Quran. And there are many hadiths which mentioned about Dates:

In Quran:

“Shake the trunk of the palm toward you and fresh, ripe dates will drop down onto you.” (Surah Maryam: verse 25)

“And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighboring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees — growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand.” (Surah Al-Raad, verse 4)

Prophet Muhammad SAW Said:

“Break your fast by eating date’s as it is purifying,” (Ahmad).

“If you have a date, break your fast with it, if you don’t have it, break the fast with water as it is purifying.” (Abu Dawood).

”Ajwah (Ajwah Date’s are the best dates in quality which are available in the Madina Region of Saudi Arabia) dates are from Paradise.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

“The Prophet said there is a tree among the trees which is similar to a Muslim (in goodness), and that is the date palm tree.” (Bukhari)

“People in a house without dates are in a state of hunger.” (Muslim)

“Whoever eats seven date’s of the High Land of Madina in the morning will not be hurt by poison or sorcery on that day.” (Bukhari)

What is Fasting?

Fasting in the month of Ramadan is Fard (Click Here for what is Fard) This Is Compulsory for every Adult Muslim, Except Those Muslims who are Travelling and The Conditions are unfavorable to have fasted, and for those who are seriously ill, and very elder and unable to fast, etc.

In Between, This Muslim are not allowed to Consume any Food, Drinks, Smoking and Any Sexual Activities. Muslims are also not allowed to listen to music, party etc, and they are not allowed to speak any unlawful speech or use the abusive language they can’t lie, backbiting, insulting, etc.

Why Fasting is Necessary?

Because Allah told Muslims to do Fasting In The Quran, Chapter 2, Verse 185 it states that:-

شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِّنَ الْهُدَىٰ وَالْفُرْقَانِ ۚ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ ۖ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ ۗ يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

“The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you, and perhaps you will be grateful”. – SAHIH INTERNATIONAL(Translation).

Prophet Muhammad SAW Said

Prophet Muhammad SAW(PBUH) Said: Whenever anyone eats next to a fasting person, the angels perform dua for the fasting person until the other finishes eating.

Prophet Muhammad SAW(PBUH) Said: “Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, all his previous sins will be forgiven.

Prophet Muhammad SAW(PBUH) Said: Fasting is shield it will protect you from the hellfire and prevent you from sins.

Belief of Ramadan

Muslims Belief that in the month of Ramadan Gates of Heaven are Opened and the Gates of Hell are Closed and in the month of Ramadan all devils are Chained up.

Muslims also Belief that in the Month of Ramadan one can change Positively by learning discipline, In the month of Ramadan a Muslim Person can learn self-control by fasting and avoiding Unless things. Details About Ramadan

The Month of Ramadan is generally of 29 Days or 30 Days. And as per Islam, it is Divided into 3 Parts.

  1. First Ten Days of Mercy: In This (1-10 Days) Muslims Have Should have to Seek Mercy From Allah.
  2. Second Ten Days of Forgiveness: In this (11-20 Days) Muslims Should seek Allah’s Forgiveness and Repent for sins in those days.
  3. And the last Ten Days for Protecting from Hellfire: In This(21-30 Days) Muslims Should Pray From Allah to Protect us from the Hellfire.


Acts to Be Avoided During Ramadan

Any Activity which leads to Sins or Which Are Unpleasant are Avoided at any time but It should be Especially Take care in the month of Ramadan, As The Rewards are Multiplied by 700 times in this Month Then Obviously Sins are also multiplied.

During Ramadan Muslims Especially Take Care of Backbiting,

Verbal Abuse and Use of Vulgar Language,

False Speech or Telling Lies,

Smoking and Drinking Intoxicants Like Alcoholic Beverages

Listening or Singing to Non-Islamic Music and Songs,

Reading Or Accessing Books-websites which doesn’t teach anything just the Waste of Time.

Wasting Resources like water, Purchasing Too Many Clothes, Wasting Money Uselessly

And have to take care of Food, No Wastage of Food. As Ramadan, Itself Teaches a Muslim how to respect food by Fasting and it Remind us as many of them don’t get one-time food in a day in many Countries.

Acts Which Are Highly Rewarded in Ramadan

Muslims Should Not Miss any Prayer- Have to perform Daily Five times Prayer with all Sunnah Prayers also.

Be Charitable- to the needy Person Give Lot’s Of Charity to the Poor And Needy People

How Schedule is Fixed For Fasting

As Muslims Follows Islamic Calendar which is based on Moon’s Phases the New Moon or the Crescent moon Starts the Islamic Month.

Islamic Year is 12 Months, 354 Days. Which is 11 Days Shorter then Georgian Calendar.

Muslims Have to finish their Breakfast Before Fajar Prayer which is usally prayed before SunRises and they can have food just 10 Minutes Before Magrib Prayer which is Prayed Just After Sunset.
