Laylat Al Qadr

Laylat Al Qadr also known as Shab-e-Qadr it means Night of Value or Night of Powers.The first Verses of The Quran were Revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW(PBUH) on Laylat al-Qadr. This was the Odd Night of last TEN Days in Ramadan. This could be the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th Night of the Ramadan.

The angel recites the first revelations of the Quran in 610 CE at the Hira cave on Mount Nur in Mecca to Prophet Muhammad SAW and informs him that he is God’s prophet. The first Sura that was revealed was Sūrat al-ʿAlaq (in Arabic العلق).

Muslims Beliefs that on this Night Sins are Forgiven and Supplications are Accepted.

The Quran Was Revealed to The Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) by Angel Jibril (Gabrial) From Allah.

And it took 23 Years to Complete the Quran.




Muslims use to Offer extra Prayers on the Night Of Laylat al-Qadr. And Most of the Muslims use to Read the Quran Whole Night. And Many try to stay in the Mosque itself to Fully Devote without Disturbance.

1 Night = 1000 Months

It is Believed that Praying on the Night of Laylat Al-Qadr is Better than Praying for 1000 Nights. Laylat Al-Qadr is Equal to The Praying Of 1000 Months.

Laylat al-Qadr in Hadith

Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards (not to show off) then all his past sins will be forgiven. Bukhari Vol 1, Book 2:34.

In Quran, There is a Sura On Laylat Al-Qadr, Sura No 97 States That:-

Laylat Al-Qadr — Sura 97 (Al-Qadr), āyāt 1-5

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ

Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ

And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ

The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ

Peace is until the emergence of dawn.
