Smile is a Charity

Charity or Zakat actually means Purification and Growth. There is charity which we have to take out from our earning, property, and gold etc., valuable things but there is one more charity and that is helping Smile, providing food, shelter and clothes to the needy person. Even if we talked with someone with a smile is also considered as a charity. Charity must be in a kind it should not be given as a loan.

In many hadiths it is said that giving charity will protects us from Hellfire. And there is a great reward of the charity on the Day of Judgment.

70 Times Reward in Ramadan

It is Important to offer charity in the month of Ramadan because our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW said that “He who breaks the fast of another fasting person shall earn a reward equivalent to the fasting person without detracting from the reward of the latter.” And “Allah gives this reward even to those who give a sip of milk to a fasting man.” And just imagine Each Good deed is multiplied by 70 Times in the month of Ramadan then giving charity to the needy people is earning rewards in the size of Mountains.

*Sharing iftar food with your neighbors.

The Prophet Muhammad said: “He is not a believer who eats his fill while his neighbor remains hungry by his side” (Baihaqi). share something with your neighbors – be it samoosas, mana’eesh, cookies, fresh fruit, or dates. You too, will insha’Allah, feel closer to your neighbors and develop a better understanding.

Barakah(Blessing) in Charity

Barakah is a term that means an “increase” and “growth”- and also, happiness. Having more barakah in one’s wealth does not mean the dollar amount increases- rather, that the benefits seen from that limited amount increase, reach further and last longer.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Charity does not reduce wealth.” [Muslim, Sahih]

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

“And whatsoever of you spend of anything (in Allah’s Cause), He will replace it.” [34:39]

In a Hadeeth Qudsi, Allah says: “O son of Adam, spend (in charity), and I’ll spend on you!” Whenever you are broke, or you feel barakah is zapped out of your life and urgently need it to return, the quickest of way of gaining barakah in your life can be through giving charity.

Happiness in Giving

Whenever we donate anything to the needy people we ourselves feels the happiness of giving. And in the month of Ramadan when we use to have all 30 days fasting and charity. It feel great pleasure in charity as the money or things we donate is the actual things which we gain reward. and then when we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with great happiness by purchasing new clothes by preparing sweets and by greeting friends and relatives etc.

Help the Needy

There are many people in the world who still don’t have money and basic resources to live their lives, so we have to take care of those people also by donating. So that Allah will be pleased with and forgive us.

According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.

Hunger is the number one cause of death in the world

Charity in Ramadan
Charity in Ramadan

Prophet Muhammad SAW said: ” If any Muslim plants any plant and a human being or an animal eats of it, he will be rewarded as if he had given that much in charity.” (Sahih Bukhari)

There are many verse in Quran saying for the charity few are:

In Quran about Charity:

Quran-2:43–“And establish prayer and give zakat and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].”

Quran-2:83 –“And [recall] when we took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], “Do not worship except Allah; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakat.” Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.”

Quran-2:110— And establish prayer and give zakat, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah. Indeed, Allah of what you do, is Seeing.

Quran-2:215— They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, “Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good – indeed, Allah is knowing of it.”

Quran-2:263— Kind speech and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury. And Allah is free of need and Forbearing.

Quran-2:264— O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare. They are unable [to keep] anything of what they have earned. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

Quran-2:271— If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you, and He will remove from you some of your misdeeds [thereby]. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] acquainted.

Quran-2:276— Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever.

Quran-2:277— Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakat will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Quran-2:280— And if someone is in hardship, then [let there be] postponement until [a time of] ease. But if you give [from your right as] charity, then it is better for you, if you only knew.

Quran-4:77— Have you not seen those who were told, “Restrain your hands [from fighting] and establish prayer and give zakat”? But then when fighting was ordained for them, at once a party of them feared men as they fear Allah or with [even] greater fear. They said, “Our Lord, why have you decreed upon us fighting? If only you had postponed [it for] us for a short time.” Say, the enjoyment of this world is little, and the Hereafter is better for he who fears Allah. And injustice will not be done to you, [even] as much as a thread [inside a date seed].”

Quran-4:114— No good is there in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin charity or that which is right or conciliation between people. And whoever does that seeking means to the approval of Allah – then we are going to give him a great reward.
Quran-57:7 –“Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend out of that in which He has made you successors. For those who have believed among you and spent, there will be a great reward.”
Quran-57:11 –“Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He will multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward?”
Quran-57:18 –“Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan – it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.”

The Prophet Muhammad SAW Said:

“Charity never decreases wealth. Rather, it increases it, it increases it, it increases it.”
“Shield yourselves from Hellfire even by giving half a date in charity.”
“Whoever draws closer to Allah therein through charity is like whoever drew closer to Him in other than it through an obligation.”
“He who breaks the fast of another fasting person shall earn a reward equivalent to the fasting person without detracting from the reward of the latter.”
“Allah gives this reward even to those who give a sip of milk to a fasting man.”
