Muslims use to recall it or use to show respect to Ibrahim Alay salaam for following the willingness of Allah’s Command to sacrifice his Son Ismail. This Whole event started when Allah tests Ibrahim Alay Salaam by telling him to sacrifice his son Ismail, and When Ibrahim Alay salaam prepared himself to sacrifice his son Ismail, He Discussed the whole dream with his son Ismail and Ismail got ready to get sacrifice to fulfil his father’s dream and Allah’s Command. And Even Son Ismail told his father Ibrahim that he can’t do this so tie a cloth on your eyes and sacrifice me. When Ibrahim Alay Salaam Proceeded Allah Sent Angel Jibrail who Replace Ismail with a Sheep. When Ibrahim Alay Salam Slaughtered the Sheep He opened his eyes and he’s watching that his son Ismail is standing perfectly ok and the Sheep is slaughtered. “At the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a man would sacrifice a sheep on behalf of himself and the members of his household, and they would eat from it and give some to others.”

“We sacrificed at al-Hudaybiyah with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a camel for seven and a buffalo for seven.”

“Do not sacrifice anything but an adult animal, unless it is difficult for you, in which case you may slaughter a six-month old lamb

(jadh’ah).”

“There are four that will not do for sacrifice: a one-eyed animal whose defect is obvious, a sick animal whose sickness is obvious, a lame animal whose limp is obvious and an emaciated animal that has no marrow in its bones.”

“When you see the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah, and if any one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails until he has offered his sacrifice.”

“O! Fatimah get up to witness you sacrifice.”

“The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) slaughtered two rams with his own hand, and he said Bismillaah and Allahu akbar.”

“Whoever slaughters (his sacrifice) before the prayer, it is meat that he has brought to his family, but that is not the sacrifice.”

“Whoever slaughters the sacrifice before he prays, let him replace it with another.”

“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not go out on the day of (Eid) al-Fitr until he had eaten, and he did not eat on the day of (Eid) al-Adha until he came back, then he would eat from his sacrifice.”

“Whoever sells the skin of his udhiyah, there is no udhiyah for him (i.e., it is not counted as udhiyah).”

“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded me to take care of the sacrifice and to give its meat, skin and raiment (covering used for protection) in charity, and not to give anything of it to the butcher as a compensation. He said, ‘We will give him something from what we have.’”

Eid-Al-Adha in Quran

So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, “O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think.” He said, “O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.”

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,

We called to him, “O Abraham,

You have fulfilled the vision.” Indeed, we thus reward the doers of good.

Indeed, this was the clear trial.

And we ransomed him with a great sacrifice,      -Quran As-Saffat- 37: 101 – 107

And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.

And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakah and was to his Lord pleasing.

–Quran Surah Maryam – 19: 54 – 55

And for all religion we have appointed a rite [of sacrifice] that they may mention the name of Allah over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muhammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]              -Quran –Surah Al-Haj 22:34
